Dr. Birch's Daily Wellness Routine

By Dr. Jonathan & Dr. Dena Birch February 20, 2026 7 min read

Patients ask us this all the time: "What do YOU actually take?"

It's a fair question. We recommend supplements and health practices to patients every day. We formulate products. We run a clinic and a shop. So what does our own daily routine look like?

Here it is -- no filters, no sponsorships, no exaggeration. Just what we actually do, every day, and why.

Morning Routine

Dr. Jonathan

My morning starts with hydration before anything else. A full glass of filtered water with electrolytes. After sleeping 7-8 hours, your body is dehydrated, and most people skip straight to coffee. I do drink coffee -- but water first.

My morning is shaped by the fact that I'm also managing a small child's routine alongside my own. Efficiency matters.

Midday Practices

We both prioritize movement during the day. Not necessarily a structured workout -- though those happen too -- but consistent movement. Walking between patients, stretching, getting outside for 15 minutes of direct sunlight when possible.

Hydration continues throughout the day. We use electrolyte powder in water during the afternoon, especially on busy clinic days.

Neither of us snacks much during patient hours, but when we do, we reach for what we stock in the Purety Pantry -- grass-fed biltong, freeze-dried organic fruit, or a piece of 80% dark chocolate. Real food, minimal processing.

What We Keep On Hand (But Don't Take Daily)

The Principle Behind Our Routine

Our routine isn't about taking the most supplements. It's about taking the right ones, consistently, in forms our bodies can actually use.

Every product we take is something we sell in our shop. Every product in our shop is something we've used clinically, tested on ourselves, and trust enough to give our own child. That's the bar.

If you're unsure where to start, begin with the basics: a quality multivitamin, D3K2, fish oil, magnesium, and a probiotic. Build from there based on your specific needs -- ideally guided by testing rather than guessing.
